Thank you L.J.SMITH.
Why isn't Forbidden game under the above list?
Has lisa been contracted for it?
Many thanx
Please reply asap - Im dying for Julian and Jenny, adult version
She wrote the book but the publisher rejected it because it is not how they wanted it. The book that is out in the bookstore now is written by ghostwriter. As a selling tool, "Created by L. J. Smith" is on the cover of these new books. However, L. J. did not write these new series.
Especially at such a (I feel) important part.
Not sure if theres any way around it but I'm pretty sure fans would back LJ if there was anyway for her to regain the rights to continue the series.
Been reading her books since they were first released (when I was a teen). Loved them then and still love them now as a young woman fast (faster than I'd like) approaching 30.
I for one will be boycotting. If its not by LJ, I'm not interested. They can - with all due respect of course - shove them where the sun doesn't shine ;)
From the moment I started reading it, it just didn't seem right. The chemestry of the characters just wasn't there and the ghostwriter changed a bunch of things from the way Midnight ended. It seems as if they are trying to make it more like the T.V. show as they are trying to make Bonnie a full witch now.
I just don't understand why a publisher wouldn't let the creator of the series FINISH the series, especially if they are going to continue it anyway. It makes more sense for them to allow L.J. Smith to write her own books so that the people reading them will enjoy them instead of boycotting them, as I intend to do for the new books coming out not written by her.
Wait! the new secret circle book will be write by a ghost writter?? OMG this is unbelievable they just ruined another great series...but what about what Lisa said of the plot of the book on her FAQ??
Secret circle used to be perfect. I personally do not like the tv series. I think its just not right. I was looking foward to the sequels but if they are not by you then no.
The thing about The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle majorly pisses me off though! I already got a really bad feeling when the freaking Stefan's Diaries books were published. I mean, not only was it based on the horrible TV-Show, but they got the nerve to publish it with Lisa's name stuck on the cover when someone else wrote the darn thing.
Sorry for my rant! But I'm against films and TV-Shows based on novels in general. But this -- I've lost my words!
Sincerely,
Leonora
Does that mean she won't be writing it?
Oh my goodness. I'd always thought Aradia was a proper Harman; she was so wise and beautiful enough - 'Beauty has always run in our family,' The Crone. I wonder who her mother was ...
I'm still very uncertain about Aradia Crowley, though. She is adopted, and I think that is why she didn't inherited the Harman name which her adopted(?) mother Selena Harman had, but inherited her adopted(?) father's name (Neal Crowley) Crowley in stead.
So her mother is Selena Harman, but her biological mother is another story, maybe one we will hear in Strange Fate.

Did I mention that the tenth Night World book is called Strange Fate? It's about Sarah Strange who is a human with VERY special dreams, and about her two (yes, you heard right. TWO!) soulmates; Kierlan Drache, who is a shapeshifter like his cousin Galen (Witchlight) and Mal Harman who is a witch AND a vampire(!!!). It's been said that Kierlan is a big cat and that Mal hasn't "cultivated" his powers. But I'm sorry to tell you that no one knows when Strange Fate is comming out, just yet.
So... Yeah... We're in for a long wait. But, L. J. Smith has also said that it would be an adult book. So that means we can wait for years and years and still read the sequel and enjoy it (But, I personally have a feeling that I'm still going to be reading her books when I'm fifty.
But I wonder what the sequel is going to be about... Hmmm...
Just wanted to say I loved your books growing up - they were a life line, and fuelled my imagination!
I think it's appalling that some of your series are now being continued by ghostwriters, whatever the circumstances. Obviously, I shall not be reading those!
So, thank you for hours of joy. I shall never stop recommending your books to young ladies in need! *Just as I once was.*
Hugs, an enamoured (now grown) reader.
P.S. I checked for years for Strange Fate... you had me hooked!
I'm super excited about the new book and as a newer reader of the series, I didn't know until today that it was originally released over a decade ago! I can't imagine having waited that long!
I took a break form the series after finishing the second omnibus, and just read the third omnibus in a day it sucked me back in that hard! So Stoked!

Since she doesn't own the Vampire Diaries according to the law, then I don't think she can post anything about it any longer.
And I think we should stop asking all this questions to L. J. Smith. After her mother died, she was able to write again. And what she wrote was the Vampire Diaries. And now she can't write it anymore. Get it? It must hurt like Hell.
So... If I were you, I would read some of her other books. Have you read her other trilogy the Forbidden Game that I mentioned earlier? I would higly recommend it.
But again; I would be VERY nice to read a sequel to Dark Visisons!
Just scroll down to "How do you get inspired?"
But don't you think she has done everything she could have done to get her books back?
Think before you talk. Think before you write...
So ... here's my question? What is the exact date? Please, please, please, let me know! The REAL one, because I kept seeing all these other sites, and I kept getting my hopes up, only to have them come crashing back down, again.
"and I kept getting my hopes up, only to have them come crashing back down, again."
Yeah... The thing is (if I'm allowed to say this since L. J. Smith i bussy writing Strange Fate...) that this is probably the last book in the Night World series. So it's very important for L. J. Smith to get it written down right. And therefore it takes a longer time than the other books. And if she started telling us when it would be finished we would just get our hpoes up (like you said) and if it turned out that she needed some more time we would only have our hopes come crashing back down, again (as you said). So she is just saving us some more pain.
BTW: There is no REAL release date, because nobody knows.
(I'm sorry if I have offended you: L. J. Smith by jumping to the wrong conclusions or anything.)
Ps: I'm a big fan of Vampire Diaries and love it still
